Report: ‘AC Milan have completed Arsenal midfielder signing’
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka could join AC Milan on loan in January repors from Switzerland and Italy have confirmed.
The Swiss press launched a market bomb today. RSI reported that AC Milan have practically completed a deal for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka. The Swiss international will leave Arsenal in January with the Rossoneri as his next destination.
However, this is not a simple rumor. Italian sources have confirmed that Milan have been following Xhaka for the last few months and very likely he’ll be AC Milan’s first signing when the January transfer window opens. The Rossoneri are in search of an experienced player in midfield and the 27-year-old could be the ideal profile, all things considered.
According to Sportitalia, AC Milan and Arsenal have been negotiating for a while, much earlier than Xhaka’s incident with the fans. This move is also sponsored by club CEO Ivan Gazidis, a former executive of Arsenal.
Arsenal signed Granit Xhaka in 2016 for a record fee of €45 million from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Swiss-born Kosovo midfielder earns 5 million per season but he’s available for loan with the right to buy. An option that suits Milan’s current budget situation.
A few days ago, Arsenal coach Unai Emery admitted that Granit Xhaka’s days at Arsenal are numbered after the infamous incident with the fans. Unfortunately Xhaka’s reign as captain of Arsenal lasted just a few days.
